DESIGN OF RECIRCULATING ROLLERSCREWS

Rollerscrews consists of a threaded screw shaft (6 or 1), an internally threaded nut (5 or 2) and several rollers
which engage the threads of both the shaft and the nut. The threads machined within the nut and without the
screw shaft have identical pitch and number of starts.

Recirculating rollerscrews - type RVR - (Figure 2) are equipped with a number of grooved rollers (4).
When the unit rotates the rollers move axially within the nut by one lead of thread after they have traveled
one revolution within the nut. Cam rings (3) will then push them back to their starting point inside a lengthwise
grove machined within the nut. All rollers are captivated by a slotted cage (5) which keeps them properly spaced.
