DESIGN OF SATELLITE ROLLERSCREWS

Rollerscrews consists of a threaded screw shaft (6 or 1), an internally threaded nut (5 or 2) and several rollers
which engage the threads of both the shaft and the nut. The threads machined within the nut and without the
screw shaft have identical pitch and number of starts.

Satellite (or non-recirculating) rollerscrews - types RV and BRV- (Figure 1) are equipped with a number of single
start threaded rollers (4). The thread helix angle of rollers and nut are identical which ensure a planetary path of
the rollers without need for their recirculating. The threaded rollers are equipped at both ends with cut straight
spur gear which engage toothed rings (3) fixed within the nut body. Finally the cylindrical ends of the rollers are
held captive within spacer rings (1) which are free floating within the nut body.
The spacer rings are held in place by retaining rings(2).
